The city of San Miguel de Allende is an epicenter that brings together a varied and diverse cultural offer. Permanently there are painting exhibitions, workshops, courses and musical shows of various genres.
Tango has not been indifferent to San Miguel de Allende. In addition to the various milongas that have taken place for several years in the city, local theaters have presentated professional tango groups, and festivals are held to explore the different edges that the tango genre contains.
After the long space of time in which live shows had to be postponed, the city seems to be returning to times of musical splendor that characterize it.
In August, the Insurgentes Tango Orchestra will present the show “Por la Vuelta, Tango ” as a kind of celebration of the return to the complicity that allows to have a direct contact with the public.
The Insurgentes Tango Orchestra has specialized in the tango genre for several years. Made up of Mexican musicians, this group addresses this South American art with a merely passionate sense breaking borders and nationalities through its original proposal for interpretation and composition.
The formation is integrated by Cristian Barajas on violin, Pedro Alvarez on double bass, Mario Zavala on piano, Carlos Flores on accordion and Argentine Pablo Buniak on voice.
These young people have traveled a large part of the national territory playing in many of the theaters and most important venues in the country, as well as in large milonguero halls taking tango from their original proposal to the ears, heels and shoes of the Mexican and international public.
Tango Insurgentes has been interpreting the traditional tangos of the 20th century for more than 5 years, and at the same time, they have taken on the task of creating tangos for tomorrow. Shaping their own style resulting from the meticulous study of the great masters of tango and Latin American music in general, they have had the opportunity to take their art to the city of Buenos Aires, capital of tango, having great acceptance. The Orchestra is
currently creating their new record material, which will be released later this year.
The show “Por la vuelta, Tango” will be presented on August 28 at the Santa Ana theater at the Public Library of San Miguel de Allende, on Calle Insurgentes 25, in Colonia Centro.
Tickets can be purchased at the Santa Ana Theater box office, Relox 50 A or through the
Theater website www.teatrosantaana.org.
