This magnificent tribute is very special for The Downbeats because it reunites some of the greatest innovators in the history of the musical genre of jazz. Since they have been the biggest references that have influenced thousands of musicians and various generations throughout the world, the concert will be characterized by playing key compositions by the great masters, and also some original compositions by Salomón Maawad dedicated especially to them. This program is composed of different styles like bebop, swing, ballad, cool jazz, fusion jazz, bossa nova, latin jazz, and lots of improvisation.
The members of this quartet are:
Bobby Kap, on drums, is an authentic jazz musician with a huge musical trajectory of more than 60 years presenting on different stages in Mexico and abroad. Starting in 1981, he was part of The Downbeats for various years, doing tours in the Caribbean and other parts of Mexico.
