  • Showcasing the 1875 Johnson pipe organ with music including works of Bach, Krebs, Mendelssohn, Morricone and Pergolesi. Organist Malcolm Halliday is joined by Miguel Salazar, one of Mexico’s finest oboists, formerly with the Queretaro Philharmonic and now principal oboist of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Boca de Río Veracruz.

Concert is free admission, though donations are always gratefully accepted to continue the ongoing work of the pipe organ project.

Chorale San Miguel is presenting concerts in large choral format, principally Masses, Oratorios, a cappella works, and choral and orchestral compositions from four centuries. Our venue is the historic Tercera Orden in the San Francisco convent complex, dating from the early 17th century, with excellent acoustics for choral music.

The Chorale is comprised of a core group of 32 auditioned singers, of whom a significant portion are professional singers, joining forces with talented area volunteer choral singers.

Auditions will be held periodically to augment the size of the chorus according to programming and performance needs for future concerts.

The Chorale draws on local and regional participants, including orchestra musicians from regional professional orchestras in Guanajuato and Queretaro.

Artistic Director is Malcolm Halliday, with conducting roles shared with Mauro Ledesma.
