    Eduardo Castañón

    Since 1981 he has consolidated his career as a soloist offering recitals in the most prestigious venues in the Republic, as well as in El Paso, San Antonio, Granada, Madrid, Barcelona and Paris. His interpretive capacity has taken him to the Degollado Theater in Guadalajara, the Principal Theater in Puebla, the Juárez Theater in Guanajuato, the Ollin Yoliztli room, the National Museum of Art, the Carlos Chávez Fine Arts room, the Simón Bolívar Amphitheater and the Palacio National in Mexico City.

    He taught classical guitar at the Center for Musical Studies and Research, a subsidiary of the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music in London.

    He has performed as a guest soloist with the National Polytechnic Institute Orchestra and was also invited by the Mexico City Philharmonic, with whom he shared the stage for the reopening of the City Theater, under the direction of Plácido Domingo.

    He recorded the guitar parts for the soundtrack of the movie “Hidalgo” with Damián Bichir and Ana de la Reguera, the film that won the Ariel in 2010 for best music.

    His record production contains works from the Renaissance to the 20th century, the most recent of which was made at Gateway Studios, London.

    It has a wide repertoire of polyphony that ranges from the Renaissance to the 20th century, including Mexican, Spanish, Italian, German, French, English music, etc.

    It has been presented in the main theaters of Mexico such as the Palace of Fine Arts, the Netzahualcóyotl Hall, the Virreinal Pinacoteca, the National School of Music, the Superior School of Music, the National Conservatory of Music, and in the main venues of the I.P.N., with works such as Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Haendel’s Messiah, different cantatas by J. S. Bach, as well as choral works by Fauré, Debussy and Dowland, among others.
