After decades playing in the Chicago rock, alternative, folk and Americana scenes, performing on multiple albums as a bassist and backing vocalist, and recording over 75 albums as an engineer and producer for various artists at his recording studio, Bill Kavanagh moved to San Miguel de Allende in 2019. At long last, Bill found time to complete and release his debut solo album of original songs, With A Buncha Help From A Buncha My Friends. The album covers a wide assortment of genres, from power pop to gypsy jazz, with various styles of rock in the mix.

Bill knew he’d have his album release concert in San Miguel, his newfound home, but just like everyone else, he never foresaw how the worldwide pandemic would throw a wrench into his plans. At long last, after several postponements, that concert is at finally at hand; it will take place at the San Miguel Playhouse on Monday, December 12, at 5pm.

For the occasion, Kavanagh has assembled some of the best musicians in the vicinity to back him up. His band will include Doug Robinson on keys, Rick Shlosser on drums, Euclid Moore on lead guitar, Javier Regalado on bass guitar, Yala Torres on violin, and powerhouse singers Felecia Ford from Santa Fe and Carlo Michel, newly transplanted from Mexico City, take on the backing vocals. Kavanagh plays 12-string rhythm guitar and sings songs from the album, along with select covers of songs by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Marty Stuart, and Neil Young.

To top off the evening, Bill has invited a favorite local band, The Hot Tamales, to open for him.
