This concert with 8 acclaimed musicians is San Miguel’s first Juneteenth and Black Music Month celebration. It is produced by Soul Fusion™, a new initiative created by cultural anthropologist, advocate, and change artist, Dr. Jackie “Bouvier” Copeland. Working with community-based partners, Soul Fusion™ is an emergent non-profit cooperative of Black musicians and allies to showcase and promote the diverse music of Africa and its diaspora that has shaped the world‘s music.

A mutual aid association, Soul Fusion™ educates the public about Black musical traditions, advances musical innovation, produces collaborative shows, and promotes economic justice for Afro-descendant musical artists.

This inaugural show celebrates Black Music Month and is a tribute to Juneteenth, now a US federal holiday every June 19th, commemorating emancipation, human rights, and resilience of African American people.

You will not want to miss Dr. Jackie “Bouvier” Copeland, Jesse Moore, Danielle Simmons, Sibyl English, Stephyloren, who are acclaimed masters of global Black Music and among San Miguel’s finest vocalists. They will be backed by a masterful trio including, Diego Martinez, keyboardist; PP, drums; and bassist Sergio Bajo.
