  • One of the most recognized exponents of this musical genre, will be at The City of Jazz San Miguel de Allende festival

    The jazz player Herbie Hancock, considered one of the most important exponents of the genre worldwide, will be part of the Jazz Fest.  He is visiting Mexico for the first time to offer a spectacular concert in the Main Garden of the city, on Saturday, November 19.

    Hancock has managed to combine various electronic techniques with piano acoustics creating the jazz-fusion style with his own band in the early seventies. He mixed styles and resources such as pop, hard-rock, synthesized disco music, music dubbing techniques and mixing editing.

    He is the author of the soundtrack ofBlow up (1966),Michelangelo Antonioni’smasterpiece and a fundamental piece of the mod movement.

    This legend will unveil the latest of his repertoire in this event that will bring together the highlights of the jazz genre in the Main Garden of San Miguel, as well as in other points of great relevance.

    Its organizers hope that it will become a reference worldwide, so that both tourists and  sanmiguelenses, can enjoy unique evenings with melodies and African-American rhythms  characteristic of this musical genre.

    On Friday, November 18, it will be the turn to enjoy a concert by the international artist Ola Onabulé, renowned musician of British-Nigerian origin, who will be accompanied by La Big Band Jazz de México, who together will offer a show with great rhythm and style, merging cultures and musical experiences.

    On Sunday 20 the closing will be held, with Paté de Fuá as a special guest, a group whose style can be defined as a mixture of tarantella, dixieland, musette, tango and jazz. There will also be Gabriel Hernández, outstanding pianist of contemporary music.

    The different guilds of the city come together to promote participants within their hotels, restaurants, shops, among other establishments within the framework of the meeting.

    The City of Jazz San Miguel de Allende, will occur during the holiday bridge on the occasion of the Mexican Revolution, where it is expected that more than 100 thousand tourists will be concentrated in the city named a World Heritage Site, which will leave the destination an approximate economic spill of 280 million pesos.
