Literary Gathering at the Biblioteca Pública

San Miguel PEN and the Guanajuato State Network of Literary Gatherings José Luis Calderón Vela presents a literary gathering in the courtyard of the Public Library where poets from all over the state of Guanajuato will probably read his work.

A special reader will be Víctor Sahuatoba, from San Miguel, who this year will be honored at the FIL in Guadalajara with the Raúl Aceves Award.

This cultural movement began a year before the pandemic. It was the visionary idea of ​​José Luis Calderón Vela from Guanajuato.

Come and have a taste of the culture of our beautiful and resilient state. We wait for you.

We are a non-profit organization that has been serving the San Miguel community for more than 65 years.  The mission of the Biblioteca is to provide, develop and maintain educational and cultural activities that contribute toward an integrated and harmonious community.  The staff and volunteers work together to provide an inviting community center that provides a lending library, skills training, educational and cultural activities in a safe environment for a multi-generational and a multi-cultural community. The library has thrived and grown through the generous gift of time and money by members of the community, and as is still the case, has relied for the past 50 years on the continued financial support of the people in San Miguel de Allende. The Biblioteca wishes to thank all of the generous persons, groups and companies for their donations of time and money.
