You are invited to join this dynamic, intellectually, spiritually and emotionally fulfilling weekly discussion group to deepen conversations and connection to Jewish Wisdom and one another. As to be expected in a Jewish class, we all enter with different beliefs, perspectives and questions we may have always thought but were either afraid or had no one to ask. Join members of our community in reading Jewish Wisdom: Ethical, Spiritual and Historical Lessons from the Great Works and Thinkers by Rabbi Joseph Telushkin. You may wish to buy this excellent resource of a book or download an online copy. A limited number of photocopied handouts of the reading are available each week.
Although it is ideal that you attend weekly, each meeting is self-contained, so you can join at any time. Each week Dan leads us in a discussion of varying topics such as:
Mensch – Nine challenges a good person must meet
Honesty, Dishonesty and the “gray areas” in between
Sticks and Stones – the ethics of speech
Communal Responsibilities
Marriage, romantic love, sex, and the duty to have children
Between parents and children
Judaism and abortion”
Divorce
Friendship
Kindness and compassion
The terrible toll of hatred
Converts
Justice
War
EcologyAnd 75 other fascinating topics.
