Introduction to Ayurveda
What is ayurveda?
Ayurveda is the ancient art of healing, which has been practiced in India for more than 5000 years in an interrupted way. In the Sanskrit language “Ayur” means life and “Veda” knowledge. Literally it means “the science of life”. It is not conceived only as a medical system but as a true system of life to promote health.
Ayurveda exists to keep humanity healthy. This is the main purpose. Being an ancient science, Ayurveda responds to a fundamental millennial desire: the maintenance of good health and the desire for longevity, if not, immortality itself.
As health improves, with an appropriate lifestyle and a peaceful state of mind, life expands. Ultimately, the articulation of a harmonious lifestyle with a state of mind of complete peace can provide longevity. Being a state of maximum elevation of prana (energy of life that circulates through the body), not only life expands but consciousness itself. The result is enlightenment. The individual who is perfected and rises above the cares of humanity is the one who becomes one with the ocean of consciousness. In conclusion, the path to perfect health is parallel to the path to enlightenment!
