Join the Center for Global Justice in a wonderful opportunity to meet the weavers of Las Rancheritas and experience life in a rural village. After their work in the fields and their responsibilities of family life, the 19 women cooperative members take time to make beautiful woven rugs with recycled wool. You will learn about their rugs and how they make them. You will be invited into the homes of villagers to experience how they make tortillas by hand from corn grown by their families, cooked on a wood fired comal and decorated using an ancient process. You will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch and a tour of the local community–Augustin Gonzalez– whose people are descendants of the Otomi pyramid builders.Agustín González belongs to the municipality of San Miguel de Allende and is located about 25 minutes from the city. We will leave at 10:30am from the office of the Center for Global Justice at Calzada. de la Luz #42 and will return to San Miguel by 3pm.The fee of $800 pesos includes transportation, entry fees, lunch, guide and translation.
