The New Cafe Muro is open and it is beautiful, more upscale but comfortable, friendly staff, great food – They are serving breakfast and lunch. In Dec they will be serving dinner. Three levels – One can go to the third floor terraza with amazing view of centro for drinks and apps and then, go downstairs for dinner.

Address Cerrada de San Gabriel 1 Colonia El Obraje Tel 415 152 6341

Directions – Go N on Calzada de la Presa which is off of Calzada de la Luz and go past the school which is on your left. One street before the street where there are cantera workers (NW corner) where you can take a left to go down to Pollo Feliz and Calzada de Aurora – you turn R on this street and go up the hill. At the Y in the road go right and wind up the hill. Yellow building with painted cats on right side near top of hill. Dead ends. Be mindful when parking.

Easier than it sounds to get there. Enjoy! Joey

Consistently among San Miguel’s top rated restaurants, MuRo is regularly praised for the warmth of its staff. Breakfast is a highlight and the extensive menu runs from huevos a la mexicana (Mexican-style eggs with onion, green pepper and tomato) to pastries and French toast. Lunchtime offerings include burritos, tortilla soups, salads, and seasonal specials such as chiles en nogada, poblano chilies stuffed with ground meat and served with pomegranate seeds and a cream sauce. A wide variety of freshly made juices are on offer too and there is regularly live music in the tranquil fern-fringed courtyard at lunchtimes.

A must-stop breakfast stop. Serves up everything from chilaquiles con arrachera to french toast and pastries, plus fabulous freshly made juices. Local ingredients are used where possible. Ultra-professional and friendly owner Gerardo provides wi-fi access but, as he’ll tell you, he prefers that clients converse – and even has the day’s weather forecast on a blackboard to get you started. It’s in an inconspicuous spot with a very simple sign. Don’t let that fool you.
