Film: “Dream in another language” [] Teatro Santa Ana en la Biblioteca

Película mexicana de 2017, ganadora del premio Audience Award: World Cinema Dramatic en la edición 2017 del Festival de Cine de Sundance, además de seis galardones en la edición 60 de los Premios Ariel, incluyendo el de Mejor Película y Mejor Actor.

Martín,  un joven lingüista viaja a un pueblo en Veracruz, México, para entrevistar a los últimos hablantes de una lengua indígena, el zikril. Sin embargo, las únicas dos personas que hablan la lengua, Isauro y Evaristo,  son viejos amigos que están peleados por un incidente que ocurrió cincuenta años atrás. Para conservar el zikril, Martín intenta reconciliar a ambos con la ayuda de la nieta de Evaristo, Lluvia.

La película se proyecta en idioma español con subtítulos en inglés

Dream in another language

Mexican film of 2017, winner of the Audience Award: World Cinema Dramatic at the 2017 edition of the Sundance Film Festival, in addition to six awards at the 60th edition of the Ariel Awards, including Best Film and Best Actor.

Martín, a young linguist, travels to a town in Veracruz, Mexico, to interview the last speakers of an indigenous language, Zikril. However, the only two people who speak the language, Isauro and Evaristo, are old friends who are fighting over an incident that happened fifty years ago. To keep the zikril, Martín tries to reconcile the two with the help of Evaristo’s granddaughter, Lluvia.

The film is screened in Spanish with English subtitles
