The cavalcade of horsemen makes the traditional entry to San Miguel de Allende As the movement of conspirators did more than 200 years ago, the traditional parade makes its entrance to San Miguel de Allende to begin the celebration

In the style of 1810, when Ignacio Pérez traveled from Querétaro to San Miguel el Grande to warn that the conspiracy had been discovered, the Cavalcade of the Conspirators of 1810 was received. The municipal president receives this contingent with more than 100 horsemen. These were headed by its president Óscar Eduardo Garduño Alcocer. He was accompanied by the former governor of Querétaro, José Calzada Rovirosa, and Carlos Herrerías, representing the Querétaro governor Mauricio Kuri González. His brother Ernesto Kuri González was also there.

Men and women on horseback: “Welcome to a municipality that changed its name from  Saint Michael el Grande to to San Miguel de Allende. Being conspirators means following a tradition. Today we are on the balconies of the first municipality in Mexico. Today we are in the building where Independence took its course. Where a brave soldier, the first soldier of the country, Generalissimo Allende, who was a horseman like all of you, gave direction to this cause.”

Generalissimo Allende took an oath to the first councilors of free Mexico – that’s what being a conspirator is about.
