Volunteer to the help the fishing community prepare the Lirio for grinding
Community Action Day Sunday, January 21 9am – 1 pm
On Sunday, January 21st, we’re bringing in a backhoe to work alongside a crew of fishermen to spread Lirio along the Presa shoreline so it can dry. We are looking for a few angels to pitch in with the work, so that the fishing community can begin grinding by the end of this month.
Here’s why your help is needed!
• Our goal is to start producing ground Lirio as soon as possible so that we can test and refine our business model and start generating an income for the workers, which will start a work and reward cycle that will lead to independence.
• Rain has caused a delay in our process, because the Lirio needs to be dry before it is ground. Also, we lost some of our dry supply to fire.
• A crew from the fishing community recently harvested several tons of fresh Lirio, which is now piled on the shoreline.
• In order to move into the grinding phase, the Lirio supply now needs to be spread out so that it can dry more rapidly. Many hands will make the work go much faster and bring us closer to our goal.
