Stop wishing. Start writing.
Learn ways to honor, deepen, and enrich the telling of your memories of home, family, friends, places you’ve traveled, or other experiences from your lives. We’ll gather in a comfortable meeting room near San Miguel’s central park, el jardin.
The goal of this workshop is for participants to leave each week with one or more first drafts of a story or poem. Beginning and experienced writers are welcome.
Samples of fine writing will be used to demonstrate literary techniques and to elicit ideas, memories, and inspire you to write with more honesty and clarity. We will discuss craft essays and short forms of creative nonfiction and poetry by notable writers.
The intent is to create a safe and supportive environment for participants to share and receive positive comments about their work. Sharing is optional and encouraged.
