    Tuesday, October 30th

Lecture on the Day of the Dead celebration in Guanajuato. 3:30 PM at the local library. Cost $150 pesos per person.

    Wednesday, October 31st
Lecture on the making of the Altars and offerings for the dead ones. 3:30 PM at the local library. Cost $150 pesos per person.

After the last lecture on Wednesday, October 31, we will build our own altar, explaining the steps on how to make them, the meanings, and more.

We will also visit the Prehispanic Room. This is a little room in the library where people can “experience” what Death meant to the Aztecs.

    Tour of the Cemetery

    Thursday, November 1st

Tour of the crypt and the old cemetery. We will visit the crypt that opens only on Nov. 1st and 2nd. Then we will  visit the old cemetery and see how people still celebrate this special date in Mexico.  We will provide information regarding the burials, and traditions.

We have groups going at 11 AM, 1 PM and 4 PM. We are recommending signing at 11:00 AM group, we still have places left. The reason is because in case something happens  (rain specially, or not able to catch the group on time) you can join the other 2 groups.
    .
This tour takes 2 hours. We will start at Casa Europa Cafè (San Francisco st. #23). There you will have a chocolate and a traditional “Bread of the Dead” (Pan de Muerto). This bread is only served in Mexico during November, specially for the celebration.
    .

From the Café we will start our tour. It has a cost of $500 pesos per person. Includes the tour, chocolate, bread, and a souvenir.

Finally, on the streets there will be people having make up sessions so you can look like a Catrina (skeleton figure).

Throughout the town there will be other celebrations, music festivals, Catrinaa Fashion Parade, and more. Also, the city organizes altars on the streets, and the main altar in the main plaza of the city (Jardín Principal).

    Hugs and thank you,
    Emma
