    By: Skip Essick

The International San Miguel Writer’s Conference has become a world-famous event, and this year marks the  Fifteenth Anniversary Extravaganza, which promises to be the best Conference/Festival ever. As the largest and most prestigious cross-cultural, bi-lingual literary gathering in the Americas, each February the San Miguel Writers’ Conference & Literary Festival attracts distinguished authors, established and emerging writers, industry experts, teaching professionals, and avid readers from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. It has evolved into a spectacular five-day gathering of thousands of thoughtful individuals who create an international co-cultural community on the lush grounds of the historic Hotel Real de Minas.

To preview this year’s conference, the Midday Club of San Miguel de Allende welcomes  Judyth Hill as our featured speaker on Tuesday, February 11th. Judyth Hill is a poet, teacher, writing coach, and editor.  She authored the internationally acclaimed poem, Wage Peace, published countless times world-round, set to music, performed and recorded by national choirs, orchestras, and dance companies and reproduced in paintings and quilts. Her nine published books of poetry include Dazzling Wobble and Tzimtzum.
The International San Miguel writers conference takes place on February 12th -16th, and you’ll have an opportunity to hear a preview of the multitude of events that surround this world-class event.  Join us on Tuesday, February 11th .  Doors open at 9 AM, the meeting begins at 9:30 AM with Ms. Hill’s presentation commencing at 9:45 AM. We’re located at Los Arcos at #27 Sterling Dickinson.  February is Women’s Empowerment Month at the Midday Rotary Club of San Miguel de Allende.  Throughout this month, we are featuring interesting and compelling speakers that showcase the dynamic women in our community.

Rotary is where neighbors, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change. For more information, contact President Gary Peterson at gpeterson41@gmail.com
