A Day of the Dead Altar Decoration Event

Join us on November 1 (4-8pm) to celebrate the Day of the Dead festivities at Yo San Miguel Gallery. We will be hosting our Inaugural Altar Decoration Event!
This is a collaborative event led by you – the San Miguel community – who will share in the art experience by helping transform our gallery space into an incredible piece of art that will honor those who we have lost.
We’ll have some decorations for you to use but we want this to be authentic so it’s important to please bring anything you would like to make this alter memorable.
Examples include: pictures of loved ones, flowers, candy skulls, candles, personal objects and paper mache.
We’ll also present artwork from NEW represented local artists, featuring the Day of the Dead as the central theme in different formats and techniques.

FESTEJO DE DECORACIÓN DE ALTAR YO SAN MIGUEL
Acompáñanos el 1º de noviembre (4-8 pm) para celebrar los festejos del Día de Muertos en la Galería Yo San Miguel. ¡Llevaremos a cabo nuestra Fiesta inaugural de Decoración de Altar!
Este es un evento colaborativo liderado por ti, la comunidad de San Miguel, en el que se realizará una experiencia artística compartida, al transformar el espacio de nuestra galería, en una increíble obra de arte que rinda honor a aquellos que hemos perdido.
Tendremos algunas decoraciones disponibles, pero queremos que sea una experiencia autentica, por lo que es importante por favor traer lo que gustes para hacer de este altar, algo memorable. Algunos ejemplos incluyen: Fotografías de seres amados, flores, calaveritas de azúcar, velas, objetos personales y papel maché.
También presentaremos obra de NUEVOS y representados artistas locales, con propuestas sobre el día de muertos como tema central, en distintos formatos y técnicas.
Yo San Miguel was born from a singular idea: how can we lift up artists and help them connect–to their community, to opportunity and to their own unique greatness–in a way that’s never been done before.And so here we are.We are setting out to redefine the gallery experience by creating a unique online and physical space aimed at helping emerging local artists develop skills to advance their careers, connect with their community and thrive as artists.Our gallery space doesn’t look anything like the typical gallery—cold, intimidating and sometimes overwhelming. Instead we are creating a new type of art space— an “un gallery.” This is a space where local artists, community members, and art buyers alike will feel excited about sharing, learning and immersing themselves in art together.Our gallery will be a gathering space…a communal hub…a school of learning…a club house…and most of all, a place to showcase and promote artists.We will provide our artists with a platform to sell their art through solo exhibitions, experiential events, installations, group shows and other unique opportunities.But we also plan to go deeper than simply selling art. We are committed to helping artists blaze their own trails by teaching them how to build their own personal brands. We will provide creative services to all emerging artists including video production, graphic design, social media, website development and copywriting.Yo San Miguel will also produce artist led events and ongoing classes to educate our local and online creative communities and meaningfully connect them with one another.It is our dream to build a massive network of local and emerging artists who want to collaborate, educate and create art that inspires us all.This collective will represent talented artists across all artistic mediums and connect them with art lovers and buyers living in San Miguel De Allende, MX and all over the world.Will you join us?
