The coffee is good, but the real reason to come is for the best cakes and pastries in town. Norma Guerrero and Paco Cardenas have been in business for almost twenty years and have built a tremendous following among locals, expats, and Mexicans. Besides cakes, there are eclairs, fluted crullers, cheesecakes, pies, danishes, and cookies. They also make the best tres leches cake in town.
High class French pastries and excellent service is what we find in this splendid place. Try the fruit tarts, chocolate cake or choux au chocolat. They also bake delicious baguettes and croissants.
A wonderful place to get your sugar hit: French pastries that you can enjoy in a cozy environment over teas and coffees.

This is my favorite bakery anywhere, and judging by my lifelong battle with weight, you know I’ve eaten at a lot of bakeries in a lot of places! I recently had Paco the owner make a chocolate sheet cake for my husband’s birthday party. The raves didn’t stop coming. I tried to get away with telling people I made it, but for some reason, no one believed me. Nancy
Yesterday we stopped by Petit Four, a wonderful pastry shop located at Mesones 99 in the centro next to Tio Lucas. We enjoyed the most delicious almond croissants we’ve ever tasted. It was hard to choose because all of the pastries and chocolates looked so tempting. We will be taking home to Austin some chocolates as gifts for sure. Great prices.
Wonderful place for coffee and a treat!
