In its original decoration makes its name obvious. The service is first-class, the menu is varied and if you want to continue the party can go to the roof, where the lounge and tapas are favorites in the city.
A block from El Jardin and always festive. The have live music frequently.
The food is always terrific! A restaurant-bar since 1995.

We enjoyed one of the nicest evenings ever last night at Pueblo Viejo, located on Umaran adjacent to the Allende museum and steps from the jardin. Not only was the food, ambience and service exceptional, but there was lovely live music – Mexican instrumentals and vocals performed by a talented four member band on acoustic guitar, flute, various percussion and a ten-string ukelele-like instrument. What a treat! All Covid precautions are taken in this large, spacious, and airy space. There is also a rooftop terrace but the band plays downstairs on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 8 pm. Sometimes Thursdays. Highly recommended!
This is our favorite Mexican Food Restaurant in San Miguel.
We have had dinner there many, many times and they always serve delicious food! I had Molejacate with arrachera and camarones. An absolutely delicious dish, served in a large stone bowl. It also contained napoles, onions and chorizo, and was served with warm tortillas.
We all loved our meals. Our table for 4 was in a light, airy spot and although there were others around us, their presence didn’t disturb our conversation in the least. Some of the things I appreciate about this restaurant are the colorful decor, and that the menus are in Spanish (although you can request English if you want). Five stars for this marvelous place.
Do NOT miss ordering the Jicama tacos. They are on the menu on the rooftop bar and you can order them also in the restaurant, but you need to ask for them.
