I just returned from Lunch with a couple friends at Lolita’s and I must say it was fantastic! There were a couple of tables occupied outside and only one other table occupied inside. Everyone and everything were following poetical and the food was amazing…from the Salad with Hearts of Palm and Avocado in a Lemon Thyme Vinaigrette to theChili’s in Nogada to the Smoked Salmon Sandwich! All is us were in absolutely impressed. Service was excellent and the prices were great. Please don’t hesitate to go there! You will be happy you did.
Finally I know where to tell our guests to go for great, well-priced Mexican food. Lolita’s! Hard to believe this restaurant has been here so long and it’s not more popular. Someone told me they have a new chef. A full-menu with impeccable service. Great Oaxacan mole, gorgeous chiles rellenos, salads and salsas, desserts and drinks. The restaurant is cavernous, but don’t be put-off by its size and relatively empty spaces. Great place for a long, late lunch or early dinner. Live music on Friday nights, 6-8. We hear they have great breakfasts, too. Salida de Celaya #52.
Opened in November 2012, this good restaurant can be found a short distance from Centro on Salida a Celaya 52. There is valet parking if you need it. They have a large selection of Mexican wines and Mexican specialties from salads, soups, fish, pork, beef and chicken. The decor is attractive (very Mexican) and the service great. They also had live music the night we were there.
This is a relatively new restaurant (opened in 2013) and it’s already one of our regular stops – primarily because it’s so close to Casa GGG (and because we really like their big street-side patio). They have an relatively large lunch/dinner menu, from classic Mexican specialties items to grilled shrimp dishes, steaks, etc. We always start with the Tacos Locos, because ground beef tacos are hard to find in San Miguel – and the sauces they come with are great. Their breakfast menu is interesting and good. The interior dining rooms are very pretty, and this is definitely the largest restaurant in San Miguel, so it’s good for large groups.
