La Parada
Recreo #94, Centro
San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico
HORARIO: MIE a DOM: 12pm a 10pm
DOM y LUN: 12pm a 9pm
MARTES cerrados
This hot spot showcases Peruvian cuisine at its best. Dish presentation is as exquisite as the names (‘El Quiquiriquí’, aka chicken breast and ‘Chino Cochino’ pork, but much fancier). And of course, the ubiquitous (and delicious) ceviche. The owners are young, hip and most importantly, trained chefs. Vegetarians can enjoy the ‘veggie muncher’

Check out this Peruvian restaurant located at Recreo #94. Located in an old home, the decor is contemporary and food very good. There is a small indoor space but a large, attractive patio with the bulk of seating. They have some very good ceviches/cebiches. They have a very good chicken entree with rice and good pisco sour cocktail. The young owners are delightful!
Congratualtions for your 3rd place finish in the 2017 SMART Awards.
2016’s third place finisher stayed in that position in 2017. I think there are a lot of reasons for the restaurant’s success, including a professionalism from its staff that never seems too slick, always warm and casual. After you get past some inventive raw seafood dishes at the top of their menu, you reach mains that are some of the very best comfort food dishes in San Miguel. In third place at this year’s SMART awards was La Parada.
La Parada. Proving Peruvian is a world class cuisine.
We had old friends visiting this week. Old friends who were new to San Miguel. So we were faced with the decision as to where to go for lunch. We have about five go to places. The old standbys we call them. They are all restaurants with a pleasant ambience, efficient service, reasonable prices, and consistently good food. There’s La Posadita, Firenze, Hecho en Mexico, the Restaurant and, the chosen old reliable this time, La Parada.

“An excellent and unusual restaurant…”
This restaurant is truly Peruvian, so don’t go expecting Mexican food. We started with a double Pisco sour (excellent and authentic) and then shared a stuffed potato as an appetizer. We both had different entrees and both were excellent. The wait staff is very good as well. I would definitely go back!

“Tasty tiraditos”
Walking down the street we almost passed by without noticing this place, except for a hand written sign inviting to enjoy peruvian flavors. We found an unexpectedly modern, joyful place with great food and cool environment. The bus motiv is fun around the place in small details. Although the orange-ade could have been much better if made from natural oranges, the ceviches and tiraditos were truly spectacular. Pisco drinks seemed very attractive in their different combinations. There are so many good places to eat in SMA… But I would gladly go bak to la parada in my next visit to this lovely town.

“Beautiful setting with interesting, delicious food.”
La Parada is a bit of a trek from the Jardin, but that is not a bad thing. It is located in a very fine neighborhood that is within easy walking distance from other venues. It is a very pretty restuarant, the staff are attentive and the food is not your ordinary fare. And the food is very good. My wife and our friend highly related the Pisco sours-they loved them. Please note that on the night we dined at La Parada they seemed to close earlier than other places.

Owned by a Cordon-Bleu trained chef who hails from Peru, this popular bistro features a modern, upscale smattering of Peruvian specialties (seafood dishes, pork ribs, gnocchi with shrimp, salads, soups and more). La Parada is a fairly intimate venue, with indoor and outdoor seating, and modern-ish décor. La Parada is a very popular restaurant (with lots of good recommendations from travel writers – and us!), so we strongly recommend that you make reservations (especially in high seasons).
