Hola Everyone!
We are now open Friday nights for dinner and cocktails! We have been working on our menu and feel excited about what we have created! We would like to invite you to come and try our new Asian inspired menu. We have lots of interesting items including a Coconut Cilantro Curry, Miso Ramen, Larb Gai, Butter Chicken and a Red Peanut Curry (as well as vegan and gluten free options).
We recommend booking as we are a small restaurant and this will secure you a nice table.

► About Inside Cafe: We are a young Kiwi/Mexican couple, I Teu am the barista and my husband David is the Chef. Inside Cafe started out as just a coffee shop and now we have a restaurant/terrace upstairs that serves “All Day Brunch” We have great coffee including our specialty New Zealand Flat White. We also have created an interesting and original menu. From the classics: Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Pulled Pork & Eggy Bagel to the SEXY breakfast, the Savory French Toast with avocado, egg and bacon and a chilli maple syrup. The “Big Wild” is one of the most ordered items as well the “Egglet” served on a comal. Plus many Vegetarian and Vegan options!!

We are currently #1 for best Cafe on Trip Advisor and switch between the first and second spot for best restaurant in San Miguel.
►Sunday Brunch: Every Sunday we have a special CHILAQUILES Brunch. Only on Sundays do we serve Chilaquiles. Including unlimited juice, coffee, fruit and your choice of three options of chilaquiles, red, green or mole, with the option of eggs or chicken and all come with beans and avocado all for only $185 pesos. This brunch is very popular and often there will be a small waiting list.

I want to recommend the Inside Cafe . It’s got a delicious menu. Great service. Lovely owners (from Australia).
It’s located on Insurgentes #66, across from the biblioteca — a very narrow blue door gets you inside — and you go up to a lovely rooftop restaurant. You have to watch for the door; I’ve passed it almost daily for over a year without seeing it. It’s closed on Tuesdays — otherwise open from 9 to 3 or 4… (And you can check out the menu on the website.)

I can attest to the quality and outright deliciousness of their food. I highly recommend Sundays when the CHILAQUILES are served. I have tried them elsewhere and never liked them before. But based on their enthusiastic review of them and my pure enjoyment of The Big Wild and other food choices I gave them a try and was hooked. And the owners and staff are all first rate – warm, friendly and helpful. By all means, give Inside Cafe a try – you will be hooked too! And oh how I wish I could head over there right now but it is a bit of a hike from California. Next summer!
A shout out to the Inside Cafe and their Sunday brunch. I ate here a couple of Sundays ago. The huitlacoche crepe was delicious. My friend said his Eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and just as he requested.
The terrace setting is very pleasant, with shade and sun, and some tables have bench seating which encourages nice interaction with other diners if you wish it.

Inside Cafe is delightful. Fantastic coffee, a comfortable atmosphere and the owners are fun to chat with. A cozy sanctuary tucked away right across the street from the bibliotheca. Highly recommended!
Hi Everyone!
We thought we would keep you updated on our progress so far! We have found the perfect coffee beans from Huitzilan, Puebla, which we are now selling by the bag. We have built a stage for our monthly music events and we have started making Kombucha!
Those of you who haven’t heard or visited us yet, we are a small cafe on Insurgentes that sells the best coffee in San Miguel (if you don’t believe it come try it
Inside Cafe is an interactive cultural space/cafe. We have craft bagels made fresh by our local baker and local organic ingredients. We have a bookstore and library and host a cinema club once a month. As well as our weekly language event every Wednesday night at 7pm, to practise your English or Spanish. Insular Museum shares the same space and is a new concept museum about reflection and dialogue.
