This is our favorite Italian restaurant in town. Antonio has blended exceptional ingredients to perfect unique and tasteful Italian flavors. Serving homemade pasta’s, fresh seafood dishes, and succulent steaks and ribs. Their seafood pasta and braised beef rib braised in red wine is outstanding.
Chef and operator Antonio Arrieta works his magic with magnificent presentations and by using the very best ingredients available has enshrined Fireze as one of the great eating establishments in San Miguel.
Homemade pastas, veal, fishes and an array of other gumba favorites that makes the mouth water vary as the menu often does.
It’s upscale Italian. No great secrets here other than Antonio
Overlooking the church of San Antonio, Cafe Firenze would be worth a visit for the views alone, but the kitchen, overseen by two chefs from Atlanta, USA, also happens to serve some of the best Italian cuisine in town. Perfect if you’re looking for a change from Mexican fair, Cafe Firenze is known as much for bold Mediterranean flavours as for refined presentation. Its beef short rib has won wide acclaim, with classics like porcini mushroom risotto finished with white truffle oil, carbonara and tiramisu also on the menu. Many ingredients are locally-sourced and organic, while pasta and even smoked salmon is freshly made in-house. With strong representation both from Italy and South America, the wine list is a further strength, as is the friendly and attentive service.

I always enjoy Cafe Firenze. They moved from a contemporary space overlooking the church of San Antonio at San Antonio #2 to a new spot, Recreo #13 in Centro. In the past I have enjoyed good wines, service and food. The new location is smaller with both indoor and outdoor seating. With seven to eight tables make sure to book ahead. The salads, pastas, and entrees were really excellent. I just had a wonderful grouper entree on my recent trip.
Congratulations for your 1st place finish in the 2017 SMART Awards!
Firenze had recaptured the crown and was, once again, San Miguel de Allende’s favorite restaurant.
I congratulated Antonio and told him I was looking forward to the 2018 SMARTs dinner at Firenze. Antonio’s response: “I’m already planning the menu.”
If you have not been to Restaurante Firenze, you are missing out in our personal opinion the best restaurant in SMA. It has great food, service, and prices.
Chef Antonio, who is the chef and owner, is the best host in town.
The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday. They are closed on Sunday.
They are located on Recreo #13. The phone number for reservations (always suggested) is: (415-121-0763).
You will not be disappointed.
A scientific San Miguel study: Are oysters really an aphrodisiac?
