Best pizza I have had in my life. And I’ve had a lot of pizza in my time, as everyone else I assume. Albeit, we were all very hungry when we arrived. He also has the bread. Nothing wrong with this restaurant and I hope he does really well as he should.
Last sunday a group of friends ate there and asked me to be sure to post of how wonderful they found it. This is truly delicious authentic italian cooking… As suggested they asked owner Marco to take care of their choices.
They shared:
Buffala Mozarella
Warm Calamari
Bacon wrapped large shrimp and his Sunday special..which is wood oven
baked Porchetta
He also does a fab chicken in oven.
Dessert was
Chocolate cake or Affogado ( choc ice cream topped w.sambuca and expresso
Well…THEY ALL LOVED EVERYTHING
He also has great Pizza
For the first time I went with a friend yesterday to this restaurant. It is outstanding!
We shared their special of an oven-baked pasta, zucchini /tomoato sauce dish that was so delicious. I am not a bread eater, but I had to try their homemade bread, which is the only bread I have had
in years that is like European bread. Sour, chewy, great crust. Perfect. I had eggplantParmesan which was rich and very delicious.
I took a 4 season pizza home and it was so incredibly good. The flavors and seasonings and crust
had me wanting more! The service was very good. One of the owners came out several times to see how things were and took great care of us.
Being in their patio with this kind of food is like being in one’s favorite restaurant in Europe; the colors are friendly and everything is simple but beautiful.
Fortunately, I only live three blocks away and so I will go often. I am a bit picky when I decide to spend money in a restaurant, and I think Fiamma is one of the top four in San Miguel.
It is right behind Don Lupe’s on the Salida a Celaya. There is a tunnel with a sign that says PIZZERIA and one enters there. One can also find the map location by searching for the restaurant online.
Almost everyone knows where the Real de Minas Hotel is, so it is almost across the street from it, but a bit further down towards the gas station.
Open noon to 10 PM, I think every day.
We LOVE Fiamma! Marco, the owner, is a nice, knowledgeable and friendly guy. He imports the pizza flour from Italy and uses a wood burning oven. For those used to the perfectly round pizza from chains – Marco’s pizzas are what REAL pizza is all about. The wine, beer and drinks are good too. Other items on the menu are also great. He taught us what “pizza frito” is and we love it.. Just ask him. He does not deliver because the product is to be eaten right away and delivery time would take away from the delicious perfection that comes to your table. In our opinion, we are very, very lucky to have this caliber of pizza in SMA. It is right next to the old Longhorn location on the Ancha – now known as Don Lupe Grill. There is valet parking. Do yourself and your friends a favor and go there. We go early (6ish) before it gets too busy.
He is open EVERY day!!
Happy pizza eating.
