SMA Health is a family run clinic. It started as a medical clinic but when Dr Ricardo Gordillo married Lisa Attridge, she introduced fitness and well being to the already thriving practise. And so it became SMA Health as you know it today. Deriving from two peoples vision, it gives San Miguel de Allende healthy bodies and healthy minds through great medical care, great fitness and nutrition. Their vision has helped change the lives of many people and will continue to do so for the future to come.
I am a patient of Dr. Ricardo Gordillo. I have moved to San Miguel full-time from Calgary, CANADA and I know I am in very good hands. A couple of health issues and they were dealt with immediately. Dr. Gordillo has also taken very good care of friends who fell ill while visiting me. The staff in the Clinic are exceptional and the staff in the Pharmacy are knowledgeable and respond to my requests I send via WhatsApp within the hour. Thank you Dr. Gordillo and all the staff.
Dr. Ricardo Gordillo is working with me to restore pain free mobility in my shoulders. I had torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders; 25% torn in one shoulder and 50% in the other. I also have cartalage damage in both shoulders . I just finished my second set of PRP injections. Most of my shoulder pain is gone, so the tears are healing. I will update my progress again in 6 months. Today I got the ok from Dr. Gordillo to start a light upper body workout.
I have been a patient of Dr Ricardo Gordillo’s for seven years, and can confidently say he is a fantastic doctor. He is knowledgeable, kind, considerate, and always puts his patients first. What I appreciate most about Dr. Gordillo is his conservative approach to treatment, and that he takes the time to explain all options thoroughly before suggesting a treatment plan. There was one particular instance where I was experiencing a health crisis and reached him in the early morning hours on his cell phone, and he saw me immediately. He was quick to act, ran tests, and, as I was by myself, assisted me in being admitted to the ER. I believe, that his proactive decisions ultimately saved me from having to undergo surgery. I cannot thank Dr Gordillo enough for his dedication and exceptional care. I highly recommend him and La Cliníca for any medical needs in San Miguel de Allende.
I suddenly had a very swollen ear and a few other large bumps on my head. Lots of itching and very hot. Since ears are sensitive it was urgent. I needed to find out what was wrong. First thing in the morning I called Dr Richardo Gordillo. He said he would fit me in between patients at 10am. He responded with the urgency I felt.
His office is beautiful and calming. I felt extremely secure that I was in the right place. He also speaks English which was very helpful. It was a contact dermatitis. He sent me home with an antibiotic, an antihistamine, a cream , and an anti-inflammatory pill. That was on Thursday. He said if it wasn’t better by Monday I should call again. I did have some concerns on the weekend and called him. Unlike other doctors he answered.
My rash got better. I highly recommend him. He’s very knowledgeable. He exceeded my expectations. And a bonus was that he was very reasonably priced.
Dr. Gordillo has been my primary doctor now for several years. He is extremely responsive and unlike my doctors in the states, spends as much time as needed to get to know and understand my medical needs. I have my annual physical in his office (MRI, sonogram, bone density and more). I strongly recommend working with him for any and all your medical needs.
Dr. Ricardo Gordillo is an outstanding doctor. He has been our (my wife and I) primary care physician for 8 years.
One may ask what makes a doctor outstanding.
1 They are very knowledgeable and current with cutting-edge medicine
2 they are compassionate. My wife died of cancer this year and Dr. Gordllo was wonderful in every way.
3 Mexico is blessed with many very good doctors, but from my personal experience, Dr. Gordillo is outstanding.
Dr Ricardo Gordillo has a beautiful new clinic at Libramiento Jose Manuel Zaval #96, close to hospital H+. It has parking underneath, a pharmacy on the Planta Baja and his and other offices on the second floor plus an x-ray room and operating rooms. He also still takes appointments at Hidalgo #28.
