The Spa was pioneered in San Miguel de Allende in 1984 when it was founded by Antonette Lim. Today, her daughter, Dr. Grace Lim spearheads The Spa.
Dr. Lim received her medical degree in Internal Medicine from the prestigious Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and another degree in Critical Care from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
“I grew up loving The Spa and its services, and as a doctor I know the benefits spa treatments can bring,” commented Dr. Lim. “Plus what other Spa in San Miguel can you go to that give twenty percent of your treatment payment to “So Others May Eat? This charity was founded by my mother and I’m still passionate about it. So, The Spa provides this income to feed some of San Miguel’s poorest elderly on Wednesdays in the courtyard behind the Parroquia.”

not a good experience, I’m not looking for much but a nice hello when you arrive would be nice. the bed did not have a sheet, only a small white Polaroid blanket that I guess you could choose to put over you or not (no explanation). She leaves the room to let me change & when she come back in I tell her that I have an injury on my face & can only lie on it for about 20 min & to please just do most of the massage with m facing up & I tell her this spot on my head that has been bothering me & could me worked on perfectly from that position. She gets annoyed, she tells me she doesn’t usually work like that. She starts & stops & says well I can only do this part of your body & I say just work on whatever you can. She continues- the whole time not asking if it was too strong or soft just sort of grumbling the whole time. She did not want to be there. After all the oil, she wipes all of my body with a towel (that’s fine -some places do that), but the problem here is that she puts that white Polaroid blanket over me again which just leave fluff on my body, it doesn’t feel great. She ends the massage 5 min early. I come out of the room & she’s picking dirt out of her fingernails. I thank her, she grumbles. I go to check out with the gift certificate I had & all I was asked was if I wanted to leave a tip. not if I wanted water or how the service was, just money please. I left a tip because it’s still labor & I would never leave without doing that. To top it off the parking space which is right where the front office is was hard to get out of, ok no worries this is a small town & that happens, but a little help/guidance to help me back out a tiny cramped space would be nice, not to mention stop any cars that are coming which I can’t see. Nope I see them all just looking at me, almost entertained. I felt better before walking in. I don’t recommend.
