Dr. Alma Godinez was born in Morelia Mexico October 9th, 1962. She finished her undergrad in Dentistry at the Universidad Michoacana School of Dental Medicine in San Nicolás de Hidalgo, in May 1985. She joined the Mexican Dental Association in 1988 and has participated in many positions in several ADMs executive committees over the past 20 years; Chaired ADMs National Council in 2012/2014 and she is also a well known national speaker.
Dr. Godinez was the founding President of the San Miguel de Allende Dental Association, 1992/1996 and President of the Guanajuato’s State Federation of Dental Associations in 2003/2005.
She was co-founder of ADMs Oral Health Preschool Program in 2008. This is a preventive that includes dental education, daily brushing, nutritional counseling and diagnosis of dental caries in 3 to 5 year old preschoolers; she coordinated this program till 2010 and serves as a consultant since.
She belongs to various prestigious Dental Groups and Associations like the ICD Chapter Mexico and the Pierre Fuchard Academy and has being awarded several special distinctions in her state.
She is currently a founder board member at the ADM Foundation and was recently voted President elect of the Mexican Dental Association. She will chair ADMs Executive Committee in 2015/2017.
Dr. Godinez practices comprehensive dentistry in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato Mexico since 1985 with emphasis in pediatrics, caries prevention and minimal invasion dentistry.

This week I’ve had some dental work done at the office of Dra Alma Godinez and Dr Cesar Rodriguez. Dra Alma made a beautiful repair of a large chip off of one of my front teeth; she matched the shape of the other tooth perfectly and will finish color matching on Friday. On a previous occasion she did a complete set of veneers for a friend; an American dentist who inspected her teeth told her (amazingly) that it was a better result than she could have had in the US.
Dr Cesar performed a major surgical operation to correct a cyst and a large abscess near the root of one of my molars; the cyst had eroded a lot of bone structure. This involved a number of steps: drilling into the bone to access the infected area; trimming a damaged root; cleaning out the cyst that had formed and the remaining area of the abscess; packing the space around the root with calcium; and then making a bone graft to replace the bone structure that had been eaten away by the infection. He discovered that the abscess was caused by a tiny piece of metal that broke off the tip of a dentist’s probe during a root canal done many years ago. Needless to say, this procedure required a dentist with a lot of training and experience. A local anaesthetic made the experience largely pain free, though as you might imagine, it was a bit uncomfortable at times.
The first dentist I consulted wanted to do an implant, another invasive but much more traumatic, multi-stage procedure, which would have sacrificed an otherwise sound tooth – and would have cost a great deal more.
Both Drs Alma and Dr Cesar are very personable, both speak English and both are patient with clear explanations of both the condition and the various treatment options. Their new office by Boom Fitness on the Carretera Celaya is pleasantly bright, with several fully outfitted treatment suites. They were timely, their prices are reasonable, they assisted me with transportation and gave me an emergency phone in case of any post-op problem.
AS you can see, I was very impressed by the way they corrected a complex and potentially dangerous condition. The office phone is 152-3082.

I love Dr Alma Godinez. I needed a crown while I was in SMA this past February and she did a wonderful job, all in the same day! She saw me for my initial visit then I came back later that afternoon to have it put in. She was super. This is the address I found off the Internet.
Dra Alma has always been terrific. I’ve been her patient for ten years and she’s the best. I just fell on my face and broke my front teeth. She saw me immediately and is saving my teeth. She is just the best dentist in town.
I just went to Alma on Hidalgo. I had some unexpected problems and she was able to fit me in and correct it wonderfully, better than the US dentist I paid thousands to. She was amazing. Speaks good English.
You are in luck! I was just there, live in California. But a couple weeks before I made my trip down, I cracked a back molar. My uncle made an appt with Dr Alma Godinez and she was awesome. I cannot say enough good things about her. I saw her the day before I was to fly back to California. She not only repaired my tooth but said to return in 4 hours for my crown. WHAT? Seriously what dentist does that, allows you to return later the same day and has a crown ready to be installed. When I first arrived, an American was waiting to have his teeth cleaned. Said he gets his teeth taken care of here because of the awesome staff and cost. $38. Speaks perfect English and soooo very nice. I googled her info:
Dra. Alma has been our dentist for 5 years. She is excellent. She dealt with an implant emergency for my husband which happened 48 hours before we were leaving for .Europe for a month; made it possible for him to eat normally for 4 weeks, followed by the more permanent solution. Has helped me to avoid root canals several times, by trying more conservative treatment which, in my case, worked. You picked the right dentist!
She is excellent and we have gone to her for 1 1/2 years. She has referred my husband to some excellent specialist.
