Very happy with the service, no issues to speak of. Communication is great and fees are reasonable.
Simply the only service in San Miguel you can depend on. When a VERY expensive package was not delivered, they covered the item price. Things can go wrong in life but when a company like Mini Express and their hard working staff are involved you can depend on professionalism. They definately understand how to treat a client.
I keep reading complaints about one or both of these delivery services and then scratch my head….I have tried both and gave up on both…Over 13 year the services here have deteriorated….They are painfully SLOW, things arrive broken with duty already paid, they are twice the annual price of other services and they do not deliver to your door.
I have had experience with two other services as well and I believe both are out of business and were not good…Finally we have Mini Express…over three years of service. I bring in at least 2 and often 3 deliveries a month and have had nothing but success and they are fast…it is rare that I have to wait more then a week from their receipt of packages to my front door…Also and this is a Biggie they open and check every package and when items are broken they immediately email you with a photo and hold onto the package until you can get it returned to the sender or permission to destroy it with a seller who will replace…I have never had that with any service and it is very upsetting to receive a package when one or more items are damaged and you have already paid for shipping and duty.
Further there have been a few posts about slow downs at the border this year…I have only had one slowing issue in three years and it was a couple of days when it SNOWED in Texas…!!!
In today’s environment of speedy shipping and technology,…1 problem out of 700 packages and around 330 deliveries… services should improve and not get worse…I am admittedly very particular with businesses that I use and in 3 years have likely had close to 700 packages delivered by Miniexpress plus my mail…I have had one problem that was immediately rectified at their expense and without a hassle…When we continue to support services that do not provide excellent service, we do the entire town a disservice by not voicing our complaints or not taking our business else where….Just my thoughts….If you are ready for a change. We have been using Mini Express for over a year now and have found their service to be professional, caring and conscientious. We had only one issue where an order was lost. Mini Express asked us to re-order with expedited delivery (all at their expense). The original order eventually re-surfaced and that was delivered as well, at no extra cost. It was business cards so no problem with it being a double order. We find them to be a wonderful part of the community.
I have used Mini-Express for 2-3 years now, almost every week
because of projects we are doing.
Having made plenty of mistakes myself, I can certainly understand how they
might also.
But the two mistakes they’ve made so far have been in my favor!
There have been a couple other mistakes, but those were due to the shipper,
not to Mini.
These are truly ethical, kind, hard-working responsible people.
I am so sorry for the difficulties you have had, but please do be
assured the posts from happy customers are authentic.
You quote them as saying *please reorder it so we can reimburse you for
it…and send it to you with priority service!”* That’s what ethical
people do when they’ve made mistakes.
I love them! Once I receive the delivery notice and pay the invoice (in my case via paypal, it is delivered within 48 hrs) They are great!!!! My monthly deliveries are like clockwork.
I recommend Mini Express. I have received about 6-10 packages per month for the last couple of years. They are very reliable, to my door delivery, always during my requested afternoon hours. Have done no-charge favors like one-time document delivery. Only “lost” one very tiny package last year, but I did receive it several weeks later (perhaps having fallen in the proverbial crack somewhere). Shipping invoiced by email, paid with PayPal. Charge per package is 17% of product value (sans sales tax and vender’s shipping&handling) and 50 cents per pound plus $1 for insurance. Occasionally, it is cheaper to use a charge-by-weight only service IF package is very high cost / very low weight (think down pillows or diamond ring). But, for most consumer items 17% is a good deal in my opinion.
I have not had great service with Mini Express – or I should say I have not had great customer service. The packages do arrive on time. But more than once, when I’ve had a question about something, or an error in billing, I’ve had rude dealings, especially with Maria. She has essentially told me either pay what they say, no questions asked, or they won’t give me my things. No one likes to be treated that way.
Thanks for the comment, we have never said that the packages will not be delivered, we always try to talk with the client to know where the error is to solve the conflict, but some do not want to pay 0.50 cents per pound, we have home delivery at no cost and still do not want to pay and then say false things about us.
We know that we are a small company where we always open people who love us but still continue to commission those people with us.
We are honest and organized, if that person says that we treat him badly, he should no longer order packages, you don’t believe that?

I have used Mini Express Service over fifty (50) times since they have been in business. I have never had a package lost of damaged. Their charges are competitive and I appreciate the home delivery.
Last week, I realized I had failed to order my 90 day supply of prescription medicines. I contacted Humberto and asked him to help me to expedite the MinI Express service. The package containing the prescriptions arrived at the Mini Express Laredo location on Thursday June 6th in late afternoon and I had delivery here In SMA this morning Sunday June 9th a 8:30 am. Delivery in less than three days and on Sunday – fantastic !!!

Giving an excellent recommendation for Miniexpress! Notified when items arrive and invoiced ahead of delivery. Easy credit card or PayPal payment. Free delivery if in Centro or small fee if delivered to outlying areas. Reasonable shipping charges.
The other great thing that we have neglect to mention is that miniexpress has given us a formula to use to figure out about how much the service will cost on a given item…I do not know of any other service that does that…it is always a crap shoot with other services and often way too expensive for the item and it varies by each shipment..Often with other services I have been upset with what it cost to get an item to me…I have not had that problem with miniexpress as I expectation is always within a dollar or so…the only unknown is how much a package weighs. And to get an invoice on every purchase or group of purchases is heaven sent…not only can you choose to let them charge it your PayPal account but if you don’t want to use PayPal then you still know in advance what you need to pay and can have the cash ready when they make the delivery to your home…I have not experienced this combination of benefits we get from miniexpress with any other company that services SMA…We seem to loose track of the many benefits of using miniexpress with typical Expat impatience. The CL comments are not fair when nearly every one complaining gets their packages they just don’t get a response…I personally think complainers are doing a dis-service to an excellent company/service and to others on the CL who may want to try them, but then get nervous….I have used them for over a year…and I order a lot not just an item here and an item there…Yesterday I received 12 items the latest of which arrived in Laredo Saturday…a 2 day turn around…They also bring down my Aetna by mail prescriptions. I bet I have received on average 8 items every other week for 27 shipments…with only one problem which was handled….Keep the emails and phone calls to a minimum and let this excellent service just do their job.
I have kissed a lot of mail/package Frogs in 12 years…..Mini Express is a real pleasure..I have recommended them to dozens of people in the 12 months I have used them with deliveries nearly every week….they are the Cat’s Meow

They go to the states 3 times a week!! I had a big box sent to Texas last week and I received it this Monday delivered to my door! With other services you have no idea how long it will take them to deliver. I am more than happy and impressed!
