Sofía Toledo Soto founded San Miguel based SOFYcares in 2014 offering private care from rehab through hospice for clients in San Miguel… She is an experienced caregiver, fluent in English, having lived for 38 years in the United States. Her U.S. elder care experience includes: 5 years as a licensed nurse assistant in acute care hospitals; 3 years providing home health care to the elderly through a licensed agency; and 7 years as the owner/operator of a California-licensed facility providing Residential Board and Care for the Elderly, including care for Alzheimer’s patients.

I want to give a huge shout-out to Sophia Toledo owner of Sofy Cares, Assisted Living Home here in San Miguel de Allende.
I have never had such wonderful care and far better than I expected.
I was in her care for my post hospital recovery from severe bacterial pneumonia. When my pneumonia recurred, Sofy very wisely chose to immediately isolate me and had all her residents and staff tested for Covid in order to ensure that all her residents remain safe.
The entire staff and all the residents, including myself, all tested negative for Covid, thank goodness.
Sofy is one of the most gracious people I’ve ever met and I thoroughly enjoyed working with her.
I highly recommend her facility to anyone who is needing the kind of care she offers. You will be well cared for and well protected.
I can’t say enough about my very positive experience while in Sofy’s care. The nursing staff is very competent, patient and responsive.
They were always there when I needed them because initially I could do very little for myself. They encouraged me to do more and more and truly helped me to get better quickly.
On top of everything, the food is restaurant quality.
I wholeheartedly recommend Sofy Cares – a top notch assisted living home, and home is how it feels.

I recently visited a guest in Sofia’s care facility in San Miguel and was not prepared for what I saw. My friend was so happy to be there, felt very secure with her 24 hr care, and enjoyed walking around the lovely grounds.
I had the opportunity to meet Sophia and was impressed with her caring and generous personality and her background in nursing in the U S.
I would recommend a visit if you are looking for a care facility for yourself or a loved one.
My Mother was cared for by Sofia and her staff for the last year of her life. They were kind, thorough in their care, and always welcoming to me and my partner when we visited. The Condo is beautiful, clean and Sofia has all the equipment my Mother ever needed.
She has fantastic relationships with many very skilled doctors in town, which was priceless for us. She also has good knowledge of
Hospital Mac and the procedures there.
She was always helpful, kind, and cheerful.
When my Mother passed everyone was so kind and Sofia assisted us in the dealings with the funeral home.
I would totally recommend her if you are looking for care for yourself or a loved one.
She offers long term care, respite care, and rehab recovery care.

My mother-in-law has been under Sofia’s care for more than a year now. Her space is lovely and easily accommodates her personal items supplemented with art, furniture and other household items as needed. Her caregivers really care, they know that despite her off and on bouts of dementia, that she is a bright, interesting person and they treat her as a friend, albeit a friend that watches over her carefully. Sofia and her team are attentive and often notice (and address) my mother-in-laws needs before we or she does. We are grateful to have such a fine, comfortable facility so near at hand.
Sofy Cares is an excellent assisted-care live-in facility in Santa Julia in a lovely garden gated community. The manager of the facility is Sra. Sofia who lived in California for many years and has degrees in nursing as well as experience in management of assisted-care facilities in the US.. In San Miguel since 2013 Sra..Sofia operates several units where she offers residential boarding, round the clock care, post surgery rehab, hospice care.
I and several others from our Care Team visited the facility and were very impressed by the surroundings, found the residents happy and well taken care of. We found Sofia to be efficient and very caring.
My mother, who is 85 and suffers from dementia, has been in Sofia’s care for almost four years and it has been a lifesaver for both of us. We both appreciate the lovely, peaceful home environment and caring, yet unobtrusive staff. Knowing that my mother is in good hands and feels comfortable has allowed me to have freedom I hadn’t experienced in years as an only child, solely responsible for her care. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without Sofia, as my mother could never afford the extraordinarily high cost of Alzheimer’s care in the U.S.
Sofia has been managing my mother’s care beautifully. My mother is 91 years old and has dementia. Since being under Sofia’s care she has been the happiest ever. She is surrounded by loving and affectionate attendants who sincerely care. She is met every day with smiles, good food, soothing music and care customized for her individual needs. This has given me such peace of mind in a situation that could be much more sad and stressful. But now, thanks to Sofía, I can relax, knowing that my Mom is in the best hands possible.

Sra. Sofia has a lengthy background in management, in the US, of assisted-care facilities. She has had her care facilities available in SMA since 2013. I took a tour of Sofia’s facilities recently with some colleagues and we were impressed with the level of care, the attention of the care-givers and the lovely garden environment.
The rates are reasonable, in line with others in the SMA area, and the care is quality: residential board and care; post surgery rehabilitation; hospice. There are currently two living units available in this lovely garden gated community.
