Oaxaca tops the 25 best cities in the world to travel

The main factors to choose the best cities in the world were the gastronomic proposal, the culture and the friendliness of the local population.

The prestigious and influential travel magazine Travel + Leisure, through its survey, World’s Best Awards, placed four cities in Mexico among the 25 best in the world to visit, highlighting the city of Oaxaca in first place.

Each year,the survey reveals travel experiences around the world, where travelers share their opinions about gastronomy, culture, archaeological sites and the friendliness of its people.

The presence of Mexico in the prestigious selection is recurrent since previous years, and for this edition, it placed among the best options in the world to travel to the city of Oaxaca in the first place; San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato in second position; Mexico City in sixth place and finally the return of Merida, Yucatan in the twelfth place.

Among the items that stood out the most in the vote regarding the best cities, and the factors put to consideration, were the gastronomic proposal, culture and friendliness perceived by travelers in the destinations.
