SPAY IT FORWARD: Amigos de Animales Spay & Neuter Mobile Clinics

Pedro has come to Amigos de Animales’ free Spay and Neuter Mobile Clinic to get his dog spayed. She is one of the hundreds of abandoned dogs left on their own on the streets of San Miguel de Allende and in the countryside. This dog is lucky. Pedro will take care of her. Unfortunately, how many other puppies and kittens don’t find homes and die alone, unloved and afraid?

We have a stray dog and cat problem! It is estimated that unspayed female dogs and their offspring can produce up to 67,000puppies in six years. In six years, one female cat and her offspring will produce 11,606,077 kittens. 70%of these animals will suffer alone on the streets of Mexico’s cities and towns.

Mexico spends millions of taxpayer dollars each year coping with problems that a failure to spay and neuter causes. Amigos de Animales’cost per dog or cat of $15.00USD for spaying or neutering is far lower than the expense involved in rounding up strays, feeding and housing abandoned animals, and euthanizing those for whom homes can’t be found.

Amigos de Animales, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, is celebrating its 20^thAnniversary. It currently serves 20communities in and around San Miguel de Allende and has spayed or neutered well over 23,000animals in the last 20years. Amigos de Animales is funded solely by donations and is strictly a volunteer organization. 100% of your monetary donations will go to purchasing supplies for our mobile clinics and Blitzes, and all item donations will go directly to our clients and their pets and rescue organizations that help find homes for these lost souls.
