Just 25 minutes from San Miguel de Allende, is one of the most peculiar and original places you can visit. This place is known as the Ranchito Cascabel, a surreal house ideal to escape for a weekend and enjoy an unconventional architecture.
This surrealist house is inspired by the architecture of Antonio Gaudí, representative of Catalan modernism. This house located in the Ranchito Cascabel, is called ‘Timmyland’ in honor of its creator, Tim Sullivan.
Timmyland is owned by American Tim Sullivan. The architect in charge of this architectural masterpiece is Steve Kornher, and the designer Bob Hoss, who took inspiration from the work of the Spanish architect Gaudí, to create a unique combination of colors, shapes and sizes, where the labyrinthine structure attracts visitors to tour the place and take creative photos.
“The beauty of being in San Miguel, the countryside, the freedom and the resources, were nothing more than stimuli to believe that anything is possible. Reaching the limit. And that was the idea behind this space,” Sullivan said in an interview.
Tim Sullivan is an American film director, producer, actor and screenwriter; in his curriculum he was part of important projects such as ‘Letters to Juliet’, ‘Shrek’ and ‘The Godfather’, so it is even more interesting that the American has decided to exploit his imagination by commissioning to design this place so unconventional.
It is the surrealism and futurism in the architecture of this emblematic place that attracts tourists from all over the world; Because those in charge of this project made it possible to challenge all laws of physics and logic, to offer spaces full of imagination, creativity and originality, it is a work of years of research and effort.
It should be noted that the place is one of the few examples of architectural surrealism that exists in the country, in addition this place incorporates to its decoration crafts that were created by people of the municipality, such as pieces of blown glass and art characteristic of the region.
When you visit it, do not forget to take the most ‘instagrammable’ and creative photos, because a house like this is the best ‘spot’ for your ‘feed’.
