Each Mexican state has its own unique attractions, from the deserts of Baja California to the tropical rainforests of Chiapas, the vibrant metropolis of Mexico City to the tranquil villages of Oaxaca.
The country’s rich history and culture is reflected in the states of Mexico. Mexico City, the political and cultural capital, is packed with historical sites such as the ancient city of Tenochtitlan and the pyramids of Teotihuacan. Visit the state of Oaxaca for its indigenous communities and traditional crafts in the state of Jalisco, which is the birthplace of tequila and famous for its mariachi music and traditional dances such as the Jarabe Tapatío. The state of Yucatán has eye-popping Mayan ruins, such as Chichén Itzá and Uxmal, beaches and coral reefs.
