The Municipal Government continues to support the pilgrims during the week, anticipating the passage of 7 thousand people this Wednesday on their way to San Juan.
Contingents of pilgrims receive security and continuous support from San Miguel de Allende to San Juan de los Lagos, in Guanajuato.
Mayor Mauricio Trejo Pureco emphasized the importance of supporting the host community and ensuring a safe and successful pilgrimage.
There will be Civil Protection units, Medical Units and supplies such as water, serums and fruits from San Miguel until they get to see the Virgin,” said the mayor.
In the last few hours, three pilgrimages were identified: one from Querétaro with more than 500 “sanjuaneros”, resting in the municipal stadium before continuing; the second in Comonfort with more than 400 pilgrims, resting in the Agustín González community; and the third from the community of Los Rodríguez, spending the night in Atotonilco.
These contingents will join more than 7,000 San Miguel residents to continue their journey through Guanajuato to their destination in Jalisco.
From San Miguel to San Juan de los Lagos, the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), through the Directorate of Civil Protection, provides pre-hospital care and establishes “rest points” with medical services, food and overnight stays, guaranteeing a safe and comfortable stay.
The special operation of the SSC will continue until February 15 to protect the faithful who will return to San Miguel de Allende and the more than 7,000 who will pass through the municipality on their return to their places of origin.
