This Sunday is the ‘Convite de Locos’ to San Pascual Bailón

This Sunday is the feast of San Pascual Bailón, the patron saint of the crazy people of San Miguel de Allende and they are going to give him a little treat through the streets of the city.

The celebration will be in different churches of the city; in the Parish of San Antonio with the “Cuadro de Locos del Parque”, in the temple of San Juan de Dios with the “Cuadro Antiguo de Locos” and in the Temple of the Oratorio with the “Nuevo” and “Tecolote”.

The Convite will start at 10:00 am. And they will travel in the following route:

El Cuadro de Locos del Parque will leave from Plaza San Antonio in Colonia San Antonio, taking Callejon de San Antonio, Ancha de San Antonio, Zacateros, Canal, Hernandez Macias, Insurgentes, Pepellanos, Mesones, Nunez, San Francisco, Plaza Principal, to return again to Plaza San Antonio.

And in the Cuadro Antiguo de Locos, they will leave from Quinta de Umarán in the area of San Juan de Dios with their floats, dance of the torito, chinelos of San Pascual and groups of locos. They will go up San Pedro, Indio Triste, up to San Antonio Abad and arrive at Insurgentes where they will meet with “Del Parque”, and at the height of Hidalgo the “Cuadro Nuevo” will be waiting for them.

From there all the cuadros will go together through Pepellanos, Juarez, San Francisco and Plaza Principal. From there the “Cuadro Antiguo” will go down Canal, to finish in the atrium of San Juan de Dios.
