With results that exceeded expectations, San Miguel de Allende triumphed at the Tianguis Turístico 2022.

With the recognition as Best Wedding Destination, more than 700 confirmed business appointments, the joint strategy with Yucatan, the presence of its own stand, and the intense promotion of the municipal president Mauricio Trejo before local and international media, San Miguel de Allende triumphed in Acapulco, Guerrero.

From the first day of the 46th edition of the Tianguis Turístico, which took place from May 22 to 25, the mayor of San Miguel de Allende was present during an important meeting and attended a robust agenda of interviews with national and state media, to talk about the destination’s participation in the Tianguis Turístico, among other topics related to tourism, economy, and society in this World Heritage City.

Likewise, Trejo Pureco personally attended to each of the attendees who gathered at San Miguel de Allende’s stand, which enchanted those present with its characteristics, offering sensory experiences of romance, wine, and cultural and wellness tourism.

With a diverse agenda of activities, which included a double ribbon-cutting ceremony during the second day of Tianguis Turístico, San Miguel de Allende was recognized as the Best Wedding Destination by México Desconocido Magazine, one of the most traditional publications in the country, which held a special ceremony to celebrate the greatness of tourism nationwide.

This recognition was presented to Mauricio Trejo by the Secretary of Federal Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, and executives of México Desconocido Magazine, in an emotional moment for the entire tourism industry of the city that was present at the event.

During the event, the various representatives of San Miguel de Allende’s tourism associations had more than 700 business appointments and new prospects with leading wholesale partners and travel agencies from Mexico, the United States, Colombia, and Spain, among other countries in the Americas and Europe.

In each of the meetings, important commercial alliances for the benefit of tourism and the destination’s economy were materialized, where the representatives, in particular, made known the most outstanding of its offer, among which stand out the hotel industry, gastronomy, and tourist activities.

Within the framework of the Tianguis Turístico 2022, the State of Yucatán and San Miguel de Allende signed a letter of intent to carry out joint strategies to boost tourism in both destinations; this agreement was signed by the Secretary of Tourism Development of the Government of the State of Yucatán, Michelle Fridman, and the municipal president of San Miguel de Allende, Mauricio Trejo Pureco.

Without a doubt, San Miguel de Allende conquered the 46th edition of the Tianguis Turístico 2022, impressing all the attendees with its stand immersed in experiences, as well as with all the offerings that this city presents for all its visitors, demonstrating once again why San Miguel is getting better every day and is the destination that makes Mexico and the world beat.
