The Municipal Band returned to the kiosk of the Jardín Principal

This weekend the participation of the Municipal Band returned to the kiosk of the Main Garden as it was done 30 years ago. At the moment there is no fixed program, but the intention is to recover this important tradition.

This Sunday, February 26, in an atmosphere of harmony and healthy coexistence, this wind band intoned its notes, making locals and visitors dance, which brought applause as it did 30 years ago.

It was in the kiosk of the Jardín Principal that it made its reappearance and delighted with its melodies the public that was waiting for the return of this musical group that existed since the XIX century, was consecrated in the XX century and now returned to be part of the public life in this World Heritage City.

There are 25 musicians from San Miguel who returned the Municipal Band to the stages that for years remained out of any activity and are now conformed under the guidance of the Direction of Culture and Traditions of the Municipality.

Acacio Martinez commented the following: “the interest of the municipal president to return to San Miguel those details that were part of its traditional image, that you could come to the center of the city and listen to the Municipal Band. It is to give back that musical image that San Miguel had” expressed Acacio Martinez, Director of Culture and Traditions.

At the moment there is no definitive program but it is a tradition that the Municipal Government intends to rescue.
