The former property of Guadalupe Rivera Marín, daughter of Mexican painter Diego Rivera, will now be a hotel.
The building with its cherry-colored façade, which months ago was demolished in its entirety and where they excavated several meters deep, resumed activities after being closed in February of this year, by the Direction of Patrimony, in charge of Emilio Lara.
The closure was carried out “because they did not let the neighbors sleep”.
This week the construction work resumed and the constant passage of heavy machinery trucks removes the earth. The municipal government, through Social Communication, said that they are already operating with the permission of the municipality and INAH.
The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) indicated that such permits were granted to the owners since the last administration of the San Miguel government, the time it was demolished.
The construction of the hotel will include a parking lot in the basement. The Municipal Government’s Social Communications Department did not disclose details, nor how many levels it will have, or what the hotel will be called.
