The Cieneguita ford is being monitored due to the rising Laja River

The water of the Laja River has already covered 90 percent of the capacity of the La Cieneguita ford.

The rising water reached the drains of the ford and caused the current to drop with considerable force, as well as affecting some plots of land, so elements of Civil Protection maintain constant monitoring in this area and some neighboring areas such as San Damián, Cinco Señores, and Montecillo de Nieto.

In the community of La Cieneguita, 10 families were notified that, due to the location of their homes, they could be affected, and they were given preventive information and advised to take the necessary measures to avoid any mishap.

So far, the ford has not suffered any structural damage; however, as a first preventive step, the suspension of heavy transport traffic in the area is being considered to avoid major damage.
