Strikers FC. International is a soccer school based in San Miguel de Allende, which has its origins in the United States, they have been training children and young people from 5 years of age for two decades, providing them with the necessary tools to make them true professional players.
Due to the success obtained in that country, in 2016 the club decided to expand to the international field, that is, to go in search of talent in other parts of the world, to train professional soccer players in their own land so that they are not the ones who need to leave their city to seek an opportunity in this sport at the professional level.
The team had its roots in Mexico in 2016, based in San Miguel Allende, Guanajuato, first participating in InterLigas Bajío. In 2018 they entered the Liga Mayor MX amateur tournament.
In 2020 they officially entered the TDP League. They debuted in the third division on September 26, 2020 tying to 2 goals against FC Prodet which is registered as Real Queretaro, where Marco Rodriguez was the author of the first goals of the team.
The academy currently has its Third Division team, made up of young people from San Miguel, the team has already played in several tournaments, and they are even the strongest team in the state.
Right in the pandemic, in June of last year, they were given their legal registration, they were told that they were officially third division, they had July and August to organize and play in a professional manner, and they had no stadium, they had no place to practice, they had nothing. They also did not have the company’s articles of incorporation, nor did they have the license, the bylaws, and the organization required by the Federation, so that is why they brought the name “International Fc”.
“Fortunately people have taken it well, I already want to add the name of San Miguel again, but we really need the stadium, we need a place to practice here constantly, it cannot be in a field of stones, of dirt, no way, because that way you are not going to play professionally, you have to practice in the place where you are going to play because otherwise, it is a great disadvantage when playing against other teams”, detailed Marissa Peña, president of Strikers.
It is hoped that the new administration of the government of San Miguel de Allende, which will take office on October 10, will provide support for the students of the academy, Marissa shared that she has already had some talks with the mayor-elect Mauricio Trejo.
“There has already been a rapprochement, a great rapprochement fortunately, they have sought us out to ask what we need, that is wonderful, and well, everything I am telling you right now we have told them absolutely everything, and they agree with our program and our philosophy, mission, vision, that we have to start from the little ones, with our system to have a well-instructed technique”.
