To avoid another closure of non-essential businesses in this third wave of COVID-19 infections, several states in the country have implemented a new measure: requesting a vaccination certificate against the disease to enter areas that require it, such as bars and restaurants; not to mention that many countries already required it for tourists.
Therefore, the Ministry of Health (Ssa) informed that it made available a virtual assistant (or chatbot) on WhatsApp, known as “Dr. Armando Vaccuno”, where this document can be downloaded.
It is important that the only requirement to acquire it is to have received the complete vaccination scheme; that is, the two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Sputnik-V, or Sinovac formulas. A special case is those who were injected with Jenssen and CanSino, which are only one dose.
These are the steps to do so:
- Send a message on WhatsApp with the word “Hola” to the number 56-1713-0557. In response, the chatbot will automatically answer you, letting you know that you will receive notifications about your vaccination process, as well as answering your questions about it.
- In that same message, you will be given the option to download your vaccination certificate, so in that same chat, you will have to type “Certificado“.
- Then you will be asked to send your CURP code along with your name (without last names) and date of birth.
- Indicate the vaccine you received and the number of doses; this information can be consulted in the file you received in the vaccination module.
- Finally, you will receive a new message with several options; to download your certificate, select option 2, enter your CURP again and that’s it, you will be able to download the file containing your proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
Or, if you prefer, you can also issue the certificate through the portal cv.covid.salud.gob.mx, there you will find the brand of the vaccine, the date, as well as a QR code that can be verified by any authority in real-time.
Vaccinated patients can return to their workplaces
On the other hand, the Ssa informed that the population that has already received the complete vaccination schedule and once two weeks have elapsed since the last dose was administered will no longer be considered vulnerable before the COVID-19.
In a notice published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), the agency stated that by having been inoculated, these people are no longer among the population at risk of aggravating or dying from the disease, which will make it possible for them to return to work.
The SSa, the Ministry of Labor, and the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) established in July last year the criteria for the population in a vulnerable situation, defining who had this condition and when they could return to their workplaces depending on the prevailing traffic light in their locality.
The people considered to be in a situation of vulnerability were the elderly and those suffering from diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, chronic renal, cardiovascular, and cerebrovascular diseases, HIV, cancer, obesity, pregnant women, and nursing mothers.
Under this scheme, designed when vaccines were not yet approved or applied, vulnerable people could only return to their workplaces when the traffic light was green.
In this sense, the head of the SSa, Jorge Alcocer, announced that the methodology of the new epidemiological traffic light will be announced soon and the cancellation of the “Traffic Light by Regions”, published in May 2020 and which had been in operation since then.
