SSG issues recommendations to prevent scorpion bites due to hot weather.

Due to the high temperatures registered in the state, the Secretary of Health recommends the population follow sanitary measures to prevent any intoxication by bites.
The Secretary of Health, Dr. Daniel Diaz, informed that scorpions usually make their breeding sites mainly in debris, wood, and lodge in cracks in walls and ceilings; that is why it is important to constantly clean the house, especially during the hot season since this is the climate they like the most.
The recommendations are:
- Order frequently where you keep clothes and do not accumulate useless things.
- Shake the bed and sheets before going to bed, and also shake your shoes before wearing them.
- Avoid walking barefoot
- Try to paint the walls in a light color to identify these animals easily.
- If you work in the field, wear boots and thick gloves.
The symptoms of a bite are the following:
Diaz Martinez urges to go to the nearest medical unit for patient care.
- Intense pain at the site of the sting.
- The sensation of hairs in the throat.
- Tingling and numbness
- Itching in the nose
- Tearing
- Severe salivation and thirst
- Sweating
- Fever
- Vomiting
And invites the population to go to the nearest medical unit in case of a sting.
