After two incidents involving pet dogs occurred this weekend, the municipal government announced contact with the owner of the Husky dog killed by an inhabitant of the Los Frailes subdivision. They are also following up on the case of the Mounted Police officer who shot a dog when the dog tried to bite the horse.
Regarding the first case of the Husky dog, the municipality announced through a communiqué that it reiterates its position against animal abuse, in addition to regretting what happened to “Alpha”, the Husky dog that was killed by a private individual and is already in contact with its owner to provide support.
The owners of Alpha stated on social networks that the dog was found on the train tracks, dismembered. This is after Alpha apparently made some damage on private property, where the owner of the place captured the dog, threatening his owners to kill the animal as a form of revenge.
In the second incident where a mounted police officer was involved in a patrol in the Santa Julia neighborhood, the municipal government will file a criminal complaint against the officer who, while defending his horse, claimed to have shot another dog. As soon as it was notified of the unfortunate event, the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) turned the case over to the internal area responsible for sanctioning the alleged perpetrator.
The municipal government reiterates its rejection of any type of violence against any living being and calls on the population to denounce these acts in order to eradicate animal abuse.
