SMA firefighters launch signature campaign to request support from the government

If you see them, give them a signature. The Fire Department of San Miguel de Allende started Friday a campaign to collect signatures, to facilitate the management of support with the state government.

The requested support would be to counteract the shortages that the corporation has had for some years now and due to these shortages, the volunteers are not able to cover the emergencies that arise, since there is not enough water or gasoline to transport the trucks, besides the fact that most of them are out of order and there are no resources to put them in a workshop, and there is also a lack of special equipment, such as suits for the important protection of our heroes in the event of an accident.

If all goes well, such support would be granted through the State Firefighters Association.

It is the first time in more than 15 years, that the firefighters of San Miguel request support from the government, before they did not do it because they were not registered in the Firefighters Association of the State of Guanajuato, but that changed as of December 29, 2021, when some modifications were made in the Patronato where the arrival of a new Board of Directors was announced, represented by Mr. Jesus Mercadillo who along with his team immediately set to work to register the corporation in the state, which they already did and now they are looking for support and for that, they are asking them, like every government, to put in an application with their respective signatures.

“Your signature today will save lives tomorrow”, is the name of the campaign that started today.

The goal is to collect at least 4,61 thousand signatures from the citizens, so if you find them on your way, give them one, they will ask for your credential to register some data or take a picture. They will be in some public squares such as the main garden and the little square on Tuesdays and Sundays, and they will also be in the neighborhoods.
