The SAT informed that the deadline to comply with the delivery of the tax status certificate has been extended to January 1st of next year.

It pointed out that the new electronic invoice 4.0 will be mandatory as of January 1, 2023.

The purpose of this is to facilitate taxpayers’ compliance with their tax obligations.

In recent days AM reported that the SAT offices in Leon were saturated with hundreds of people coming to do their paperwork.

On average, there were lines of up to 300 workers, who were attended to in the parking lot of the building.

The agency even announced that it would be attending during the following three weekends, due to the increase in the daily influx.

The workers who came to the offices initially had a deadline of the end of May to comply with this requirement.

In addition, the companies warned that if they did not carry out the procedure, their wages would be withheld, although this is not provided for in the Federal Labor Law.

“It should be noted that the issuance of the payroll invoice is independent of the labor obligation that employers have to pay wages and salaries to their workers so that not delivering the proof is not a reason for dismissal or withholding of payment,” the notice warns.

The SAT’s press release states that taxpayers who are already using the new version of Invoice 4.0 should continue with it in order to familiarize themselves with it.

Those who have not yet implemented it, are invited to continue with the transition process during the remainder of this year.
