Sanmiguelenses and visitors come to the Jardín Principal for the lighting of the Christmas Tree 2021

    This Friday night, December 3, the light of Christmas came to San Miguel de Allende, San Miguel de Allende residents and visitors came to the Jardín Principal to see the lighting of the 2021 Christmas tree and filled the Plaza.

    The municipal president, Mauricio Trejo, led the traditional lighting of the Christmas Tree, which each year brings together Sanmiguelenses families and attracts thousands of visitors.

    “Happy Holidays to all of you. This is for all of you, thank you very much. Let’s enjoy. Love, happiness, and best vibes and wishes,” said the president, accompanied by his daughters Natalia, Valentina, and Valeria, from the steps next to the Relox tower.

    Prior to the countdown, Valentina Trejo addressed the people of San Miguel, expressing her best wishes for the families that are the soul of this municipality, “first of all, thank you very much for being here, I wish you much peace, much happiness and much love for each one of you during this holiday season. Thank you very much.

    Trejo Pureco instructed the Department of Economic Development, International Relations, and NGOs to return this symbolic event to the Jardín Principal, and thus welcomed Christmas 2021 in the World Heritage City.

    Prior to the great event, there was a concert of Christmas carols and after the countdown for the lighting of the big Christmas tree of 15 meters high, the sky was broken in sparkles with a fireworks show with the entertainment of two musical choirs; everything was accompanied by tamales and aguinaldos, in an atmosphere full of joy and love.

    Prior to the lighting, the Environment and Sustainability Department dressed the downtown area with poinsettias flowers, so that the urban image would be in keeping with the Christmas season.
