Fulfilling the commitment made to its inhabitants, the community of Clavellinas is an example of the Municipal Government bringing potable water to more communities.
Accompanied by the families of this community in the northwest of San Miguel’s territory, municipal president Mauricio Trejo started up the new well and equipment, making water a reality.
“I didn’t give up, I came here and told you: give me your hand, and then I will give you my hand, and here we are delivering, not making promises because I don’t make promises, I make commitments,” said the municipal president.
Prior to the opening of the well and surrounded by children, Trejo Pureco recognized the commitment of the councilmen who voted in favor of these works; in this sense, he mentioned to the people “those (councilmen) who voted against are going to be left with the desire to have been part of this great project, which makes us all very happy; they are going to be left with the desire to have been part of the affection that the Clavellinas people give us”.
The moment of the day was the opening of this well which, amid smiles and applause, overflowed with emotions among the attendees, including the municipal president, who got under the water jet and encouraged more people to do so, to enjoy the moment and express their happiness at having the vital liquid for their service.
Visibly moved, it was precisely the delegate who thanked Mauricio Trejo that the Municipality has made it a reality that this community now has drinking water and that their most pressing needs are also taken into account in the upcoming works.
“This is a dream come true. Thanks to you for the great support you have given us in this community, we are very grateful because you looked at one of the most remote communities in the municipality, that is why, to tell you the truth, we have no words. Welcome to this beautiful community, and thank you for giving it so much prominence, the truth is that we are flying high”, said the delegate as the spokesperson for the 1,650 inhabitants of this rural locality.
For years, entire families struggled to bring the necessary water from the community of Loma de Cabras or further away by going to neighboring communities such as Santa Fe, San Rafael, and La Puerta. As of today, they now have their own well at their service.
The event was also attended by members of the Board of Directors of the San Miguel de Allende Potable Water and Sewer System (Sapasma), which is the agency responsible for carrying out these works, with a total amount of 13 million pesos ($12,839,000.00), which will become a reality this year and include an elevated tank, the interconnection line, electrification and equipment of the well, in addition to the rehabilitation of the sanitary drainage network and the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).
With works that significantly improve the quality of life of the families in greatest need, the Municipal Government reaffirms its commitment to the most remote communities of San Miguel de Allende so that they can live better every day.
