    With the arrival of September, San Miguel de Allende is preparing to celebrate the 214th anniversary of the Independence of Mexico. The Municipal Government began to decorate the streets of the historic center and its surroundings with the patriotic colors. In addition to preparing a program of activities to exalt the culture and history that is a fundamental part of this national holiday.

    San Miguel de Allende, known as “The Forge of National Independence,” the city, which is the birthplace of the First Soldier of the Nation, Don Ignacio Allende, and the first City Council of Free Mexico, continues to celebrate its historical significance with pride.
    Patriotic decorations and educational focus. Acacio Martínez, director of culture and traditions, highlighted that these festivities begin with the decoration, which not only seeks to celebrate, but also instills respect and knowledge for the historical process that transformed the country.
